| Make your next building a smart
building The network infrastructure of most office buildings is a patchwork of wiring and electronic components that are installed, upgraded, abandoned, and reinstalled as tenants move in and out. This results in a disorganized, undocumented network that provides little or no value to the building's owner or the next incoming tenant. To solve this problem, you as the building owner should consider offering a comprehensive network infrastructure. Just as you provide reliable heating and electrical systems, you should provide a reliable network. Not only is the network becoming as important to prospective tenants as heat and lighting, it's a valuable resource that can generate additional income. There are a number of ways you can provide the network that will make your building a smart building. You can have another company own the network and pay you a portion of the revenues, or you can own the network and pay for installation and maintenance from the revenue you generate. We're not suggesting that you manage the network, any more than we'd suggest that you do your own electrical work. The key is that providing a comprehensive network infrastructure will help you attract and retain tenants, generate revenue, and increase the resale value of the building.
